The eight AI engines we measure in Arabic

Last updated:

We measure 8 AI engines: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Claude and Grok. We ask all of them your customers' questions in Arabic and in their dialect, read Google's answers as they appear in your customer's country, and keep what each engine answered as the evidence.

  1. Why these eight engines and no others?

Because a customer in the Gulf reaches them in Arabic, and because we hold text evidence under every verdict: the answer as written and the sources it cited. Both conditions hold or we do not measure: no evidence, no number. That is the work of what GEO is.

The two kinds differ in how your customer reaches them. The three search surfaces, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot, reach them mid-search, inside the results page itself, and that page is the same for everyone searching that hour. The five chat engines, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Grok, are opened and asked by the customer, and their answers change from one ask to the next, so every question is measured repeatedly and one lucky answer is never counted as a change. What a run gives you is in how we measure your score.

Which engines run on your account follows your plan, and every plan contains the one below:

    • Free: Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT.
    • Starter: adds Gemini.
    • Pro: adds Perplexity and Google AI Mode.
    • Business: adds Copilot, Claude and Grok, completing the eight.
  2. Google AI Overviews is the summary that comes before Google's results

Google AI Overviews is a summary Google writes at the top of the results page, above the links, with its sources beside it. Your customer never chooses this surface: they type a question and the summary is already there.

In Arabic, Google does not write one for every question. When it writes none, we record the cell as no answer, and it never counts against your site, because a summary that was never written said nothing about you.

We measure it in Arabic and for your country, so what you read is what your customer sees there rather than a generic version. Available from Free, alongside ChatGPT. The practical steps are in the guide to Google AI Overviews in Saudi Arabia.

  3. ChatGPT is the engine your customer asks by name

ChatGPT is OpenAI's chat engine: one continuous answer, with the links it cited under it. What we measure in it is whether your site is cited inside the answer, not where it ranks.

Its answer moves. The same question morning and evening can name two different shops, so every question is measured repeatedly, and a measurement that spans a range shows it rather than one number pretending to be stable.

We ask it in your customer's words and dialect. Available from Free, so it is the first engine a new account sees. The detail is in how ChatGPT picks which businesses to recommend.

  4. Gemini is Google's chat engine, and it is not AI Overviews

Gemini is Google's chat app, separate from the results page: you ask, it answers, and it cites the links it used. It is often confused with AI Overviews and AI Mode, but the three are different surfaces giving three answers to one question, so we measure each by name.

Your customer reaches it through the same Google account they use for mail and on their phone, with nothing to install. We ask it in Arabic, in your customer's dialect, and measure every question repeatedly because its answer moves. It unlocks on Starter, at 499 SAR a month.

  5. Perplexity is the engine that builds its answer on numbered sources

Perplexity is an AI search engine that shows its sources inside the answer itself, numbered beside the sentence each supports. That makes it the clearest of the eight to measure: your link is among the sources or it is not.

People go to it when they want the source before they act: a buyer comparing offers, an employee preparing a decision, a journalist checking a fact. We ask it in Arabic, in your customer's dialect. It unlocks on Pro, at 999 SAR a month, with Google AI Mode.

  6. Google AI Mode is Google's conversation inside the search page

Google AI Mode is the conversational surface inside Google Search, behind a tab of its own: a full generated answer with references of its own, not the summary above the results. One question gives one answer in AI Overviews and a different one in AI Mode, so we measure them separately and spell out both names in full.

In our measurements on Arabic Gulf questions in September 2026, AI Mode sometimes writes a full answer citing no site at all. Nobody leads that cell: your site is absent and so are your rivals, which is a finding rather than a silence.

We measure it in Arabic and for your country, as your customer reads it inside the search page. It unlocks on Pro.

  7. Copilot is Microsoft's answer inside Bing search

Copilot is Microsoft's AI assistant, and it reaches your customer while they search in Bing, inside the results page itself.

We ask it in Arabic, as your customer meets it in Bing search. The Business plan unlocks it.

  8. Claude is the chat engine asked in the context of work

Claude is Anthropic's chat engine: long, ordered answers, citing the links it built on. People reach it through its app and the work tools that embed it more than from a search page, so its questions tend to be work questions.

Because its questions are decision questions, a citation there reaches a reader preparing a proposal or choosing a supplier. We ask it in Arabic, in your customer's dialect, and measure every question repeatedly because its answer moves. It unlocks on Business.

  9. Grok is the engine of X

Grok is xAI's chat engine, asked from inside X itself: the platform where people talk about restaurants, clinics and shops before buying. Someone asking there does not open another app to ask again, so Grok's answer is the one they leave with.

It joined our list on 22 September 2026, once we had complete text evidence for every verdict on it: the answer as written and the sources it cited. We ask it in Arabic, in your customer's dialect, and measure every question repeatedly. The Business plan unlocks it, with Copilot and Claude.

  10. What we do not measure today, and why

We add an engine when we can hold full text evidence under every verdict: its answer as written and the sources it cited. Until then, any number we sold about it would be a guess, and we do not sell guesses.

The eight above are what we measure as of September 2026. If another engine matters in your market, contact the Tasadr team: what Arabic markets ask for is what we add first.

    • Meta AI: we cannot reach its answer text and sources in a way we trust, so there is no evidence to put under a verdict.
    • Local and open models on the user's own device: they do not read the web yet, so they cite nothing and there is nothing to measure.
    • DeepSeek: a candidate for the day its answers and sources can be measured accurately. Not in yet.

Frequently asked questions

How many engines do you measure?

8: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Claude and Grok. How many run on each measurement follows your plan, and Free measures two.

What is the difference between AI Overviews and AI Mode?

AI Overviews is a summary above the results and AI Mode a conversation inside search with its own references; we measure each by name. Details in the guide to Google AI Overviews in Saudi Arabia.

Why is one measurement per question not enough?

Because a chat engine's answer moves from one ask to the next. We measure every question repeatedly so one lucky answer is never counted as a change, show the range whenever a measurement spans one, and keep the answer text under every verdict.

Do you ask in Arabic or in English?

In your market's language and dialect. Every site carries a country and a dialect you set, and the questions and the measurement follow. Gulf markets first, and Arabic is what the product was built on.

Which plan unlocks all eight engines?

Business, from 4,999 SAR a month and sold by request. Pro unlocks 5 engines, Starter 3 engines and Free 2 engines. The full comparison is on Tasadr pricing.

What happens when an engine writes no answer?

We record the cell as no answer, and it never counts against your site. Nobody was named or cited, so charging you for the engine's silence would lower your number over an answer that was never written.

Do you add new engines?

Yes, on one condition: that we hold full text evidence under every verdict, answer and sources alike. Grok joined on 22 September 2026, and Meta AI is still out because it does not meet it.
